Meet Susan

Founder & CEO

​Welcome to Lake Worth Counseling. I am the founder and CEO of LWC. In 2014, LWC was formed to create a private practice group committed to helping individuals and families with their mental health needs. Today, we have a fantastic team of over 20 professionals, including counselors and support staff, who continue to provide caring and collaborative services to our community.

I started in the education field but fell in love with family therapy and its unique system of helping adults, children, and families experience lasting and profound changes in their lives. I counseled families, couples, and children for 20+ years and worked in various settings, including non-profit, government, and overseas, in Grand Cayman as a family therapist. I currently work at LWC as chief executive officer in a full-time administrative role.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor (LMFT-S). My education includes a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Texas Wesleyan University and a M.S. in Family Therapy from Texas Wesleyan University.

I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, and live in Aledo with my husband and daughter. I enjoy cooking, swimming, Pilates, Mexican food, and beach vacations. We are not a perfect family by any means, but we believe a sense of humor, forgiveness, humility, and spirituality go a long way toward maintaining a happy family.
