Meet Susan

Founder & CEO

​Susan Shepard is the founder and CEO of Lake Worth Counseling. In 2014, LWC began as a small private practice group committed to helping individuals and families with their mental health needs. Today, LWC has grown to a group of 20+ professionals who continue to provide caring and collaborative services in the community.

Susan started in the education field as an elementary school teacher but fell in love with family therapy and its unique system of helping adults, children, and families experience lasting and profound changes in their lives. She counseled families, couples, and children for 20+ years and worked in various settings, including non-profit, government, and overseas, in Grand Cayman as a family therapist. Susan currently works as Director in a full-time administrative role.

Susan grew up in a military family and later settled in Fort Worth, Texas. She enjoys cooking, swimming, scuba diving, Mexican food, and beach vacations. Her goals are to travel more and grow in her Christian faith.

Education:
B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Texas Wesleyan University
M.S. in Family Therapy from Texas Wesleyan University.
